CLIENT : The ATlantic Magazine ASSIGNMENT : Artwork for story feature, "What Thoreau Saw" about Henry David Thoreau post-walden journals
I worked with Katie Martin at The Atlantic Magazine to create this feature-story artwork for "What Thoreau Saw". Henry David Thoreau's post-Walden journals documenting the patterns of nature around his hometown: Concord, Connecticut. The piece argues that Thoreau's habit of systematically observing and recording nature becomes a type of "living poetry". Our goal is to reflect that in the art with accurately precise plants/animals woven into a beautiful scene.
